NEWCASTLE 75 REUNION THE CLASS OF 75 ~ 1975 - 2015
|
SATURDAY 18TH JULY 2015 - BE THERE!
|
Since our last reunion I have retired –
well sort of – still doing a bit of bank
and private work to keep the old grey
cells ticking over and pay for frequent
holidays and business class flight s to
New Zealand .
We have two amazing Kiwi
granddaughters, Isla, 5 and Elise, 2, in
Auckland and try to get out to visit them
and their parents, James (our son) and
Kirsten, at least once a year. Newcastle
in January and February not the
warmest place to be so this works out
really well for us!
Our daughter Katie who is about to graduate as a nurse this summer also got engaged last September and plans to get
married to Simon next year. (No let up in the bank and private work until after that then!)
We quit the gym, got step counters and now endeavour to walk 10,000 steps a day, not hard when you get your bus and
metro pass and try to avoid driving as much as possible. That and 500 calories 2 days a week and I think we are fitter (and
certainly happier) than we have ever been.
We remodelled our house on retirement and got an AGA which both keeps us warm and has encouraged me to do a lot
more baking, particularly bread, and I continue with my quilting, painting, knitting and felting (although I seem to have less
time for this since I retired – it’s true what they say). My latest project is making teeny tiny clothes for Barbie!
Really looking forward to getting together again with everyone at this reunion. See you soon!
