NEWCASTLE 75 REUNION THE CLASS OF 75 ~ 1975 - 2015
|
SATURDAY 18TH JULY 2015 - BE THERE!
|
Well since the last reunion in 2010 there have been
several life-changing events!
Firstly, I became a mystery shopper for the local FT by
having a small MI and stent in December 2011-
excellent service by the way by the Freeman Hospital!
I had intended to retire on my 60th birthday the
following August but decided enough was enough so
left my practice at the end of March 2012.
However, by dint of being in the wrong place at the
right time, I was chairing a PBC group when the
Coalition Government (“No more top-down NHS
reorganisations”!!!) decided to reorganise the NHS
and I was left chairing one of the new CCGs which I
took through authorisation and the first year of
operation, retiring for good at the end of March 2014,
having left the CCG in financial balance. No mean feat!

Since then Sue and I have spent a good deal of the last year travelling in our motorhome - Holland, Shetland, Belgium and
the Edinburgh Festival - and are currently planning our next year’s adventures. We are learning conversational Italian, I am
continuing to build my model railway and have got back into music again playing acoustic guitar and trying to learn the
mandolin.
I don’t know how I had the time to work!
