THE CLASS OF 75 ~ 1975 - 2015
SATURDAY 18TH JULY 2015 - BE THERE!
John Burn
Still working full time, if being professor counts!

Pulled my NHS pension at end of 2014 and
returned in February to part time posts with
Newcastle University and FT, non-executive
director for NHS England and Chairman of a
biotech company, QuantuMDx ltd, based in
Newcastle and close to producing a point of care
DNA testing device.

I will give up my job as genetics lead for the
National Institute of Health Research over the next
year but have new jobs for DH helping sort out rare
disease registries and with a new organisation
called the Global Alliance for Genomics and
Health, helping build international genomic
reference databases.
Linda spent three days a week in Scotland helping our daughter Danielle and Ben raise our four grandchildren until last
summer when the family moved to Canterbury with Ben's new lectureship.  Our son Jamie has finally emerged from the
horrors of recovered memories of abuse by a carer when he was five, a trauma which has had a devastating effect on our
family over the last five years and nearly cost his life.  We look forward to seeing him flourish again when his children's book
"the little boy with his head in the clouds" is published later this year.
