ACS
SATURDAY 18TH JULY 2015 - BE THERE!
Anne Sweetman
Well five years on, officially an OAP with a state pension and a bus pass, I’m still
nagging Dick, Rel and Charles about yet another reunion!

I never did go back to work and haven’t missed it but still enjoy chewing the fat
and reorganising the NHS in my head – it’s so much easier when you don’t
work in it anymore! However I am now a librarian – volunteering in Jesmond
Library which was closed by the Council in June 2013 and reopened three
months later - and finding my GP skills coming in handy. You never know who
(or what) is going to walk through the door! In a vain attempt to prevent the
onslaught of dementia I’m half way through an OU degree in humanities and
have discovered that analysing literature and artworks is very similar to
identifying and understanding a patient’s problems – so I find I have
transferable skills after all!

The lovely Nigel and I are approaching our silver wedding – and they said it
wouldn’t last….! We plan to drive our fab campervan (Vikki – pictured bottom left)
to a quiet spot with a view and drink champagne from her fridge. We still own a
twelfth of a narrowboat (photo on request) and spend a lot of time pootling about
in trains, buses, boats and vans - bliss.
